Client Services – LifeSkills Assistance Programs – Nutrition

For many families living on the edge of poverty or in the midst of financial crisis, good nutrition is often low on the list of priorities. Inexpensive and processed foods can make weight reduction almost impossible, leading to a host of medical problems including heart disease, diabetes and many others.

And what is worse is the affect these foods have on their children. Overweight children also experience health problems, but for many, the biggest problem is often the social stigma associated with being heavy.

Overweight children are often ostracized and made fun of – often leading to depression, drug use and suicide.

To help our clients make good nutrition choices, improve their health, and create a healthy start for children, Mission of Peace National Corporation offers extensive nutrition counseling and services.

When clients meet with MOPNC’s licensed dietician to discuss their nutritional needs, the counselor works one-on-one with each client to suggest better food selection, helping with menu planning, and even designing a personal menu for an entire month. They have an extensive list of suggestions for tasty five ingredient meals, in order to make meal planning and preparation easy.
