Affiliates – How to Become a MOPNC Affiliate

Mission of Peace National Corporation (“MOPNC”), a U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development National Counseling Intermediary, is a recipient of various federal grant funds in support of housing and foreclosure mitigation counseling and related community development services across the country. It is MOPNC’s intent to enter into grant-specific sub-award agreements with eligible affiliate agencies (“Member Affiliates”) to re-grant a portion of these funds to perform housing finance-related and other services in local communities. This Member Affiliate application program reflects MOPNC continued commitment to

strengthening its network’s capacity to provide important and vital community-oriented services to the neighborhoods in which it serves by pre-qualifying applicants for these potential sub-awards. Successful applicants will become members of the MOPNC network of local affiliate agencies, and will be eligible to seek participation in specific MOPNC’s sub-award opportunities. Further, MOPNC Member Affiliates will be invited to attend and participate in MOPNC conferences, as well as benefit from MOPNC-sponsored training and other support programs. As achievement of MOPNC’s mission will succeed or fail based on the efforts of all members of the MOPNC network, MOPNC expects its Member Affiliates be active participants in grant and other funding opportunity identification, pursuit and fulfillment.

Funding Priorities

As grant funds become available, usually on an annual basis, MOPNC will issue a limited number of sub-awards to eligible Member Affiliates who demonstrate a commitment to MOPNC’s mission, ethics and program delivery standards. As appropriate, MOPNC Member Affiliates will have the opportunity to participate in MOPNC’s grant application efforts as well as to apply for sub-award funding.

Training and Certification

In order to remain eligible for participation in sub-award funding, key Member Affiliates staff must attend the MOPNC Mid-Year and Annual Conferences, as well as participate in monthly and quarterly Member Affiliate conference calls. In addition, Member Affiliate Executive Directors and at least one (1) Board Member from each Member Affiliate are required to complete the respective Executive Director and Board Member training courses. All counseling staff must be certified by participating in all required certification courses and passing the Counseling Certification Test.
